California has passed the California Consumer Privacy act, which sets legislative boundaries in place for the protection of the private online information of California citizens. This act is responsive to recent scandals such as the Cambridge Analytica breach, and its stated aims are very broad, but the speed in which the Act has been passed has raised some concerns that there could be holes in the legislation, or that some parts of it may be unenforceable.
