It is the worst possible situation. Not only are you dealing with the loss of a loved one, but you believe that their death was the fault of another person. Unlike other lawsuits, in which the claimant is the injured party, a wrongful death suit is made on behalf of the deceased.
So what can you attempt to recover in a wrongful death lawsuit? There are two types of damages awarded in Wrongful Death Lawsuits: pecuniary and punitive.
Pecuniary, or financial, are most common. These not only include any medical and funeral costs of the deceased, but also the value the person would have generated in life for others – for example parental or spousal support.

If you have lost someone and feel that their death was wrongful, find an experienced attorney to help you navigate your case.
