Contrary to popular belief, one of the most dangerous days of the year to drive on America’s roadways is NOT a major holiday, but rather the 2nd of August. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety collected data regarding car fatalities over a series of four years. The study concluded that, with 505 deaths on this star crossed date, August the 2nd is indeed the least safe day of the year to be in a moving vehicle.
